What is the main difference between a slatted base and a flexible base?
A slatted base is rigid, does not flex, and forms a stable platform. It is suitable for spring mattresses and users who prefer a firmer surface. A flexible base is elastic, actively works with the mattress, and is primarily designed for foam mattresses.

Do wooden slatted bases creak?
Quality bases from manufacturers will not creak if properly seated. For fixed bases in a frame, the risk of creaking is minimal due to the stable construction. For folding bases, we recommend screwing the outer slats to the bed frame to prevent movement.

What should be the gap between the individual slats?
For proper function and mattress protection, the gap between the slats should not exceed 4 to 6 cm. Gaps that are too large can lead to mattress deformation, while those that are too small restrict necessary ventilation.

Can I use a slatted base in any bed?
Yes, slatted bases are standardized. It is only important to check that your bed has sufficiently wide slats in the middle and on the sides for the base to rest on.
